Homos en politique, le dire ou pas ?

Year: 2025 Documentary Runtime: 90 min Rating: 8.0

Overview

“Being French in 2024 means being able to serve as Prime Minister while openly gay.” With these words closing his policy speech on January 30, 2024, Gabriel Attal made history. The documentary *Homos en politique: le dire ou pas?* uses this milestone — the appointment and visibility of France’s first openly gay Prime Minister — as a springboard for a broader inquiry. Journalists Jean-Baptiste Marteau and Renaud Saint-Cricq travel across France to meet LGBTQ politicians of all generations, from Paris to rural towns. Eleven years after the protests against same-sex marriage, has France really changed? Through interviews with figures like Bertrand Delanoë, Sarah El Haïry, Jean-Philippe Tanguy, Franck Riester, and others, the film explores how coming out intersects with politics, homophobia, and representation — questioning whether saying “I’m gay” in politics is still an act of courage or simply a sign of the times.

Red Shadow over the White House

As the 2024 elections approach, Russian interference in American politics – through spies or agents of influence – is a troubling reality. Vladimir Putin is counting on Donald Trump’s victory to weaken support for Ukraine. Why does Trump almost always support Russia? Is he compromised? During his presidency, did he betray the United States in favor of the Kremlin? And why has the Republican Party shifted its stance toward Russia? Answering these questions means shedding light on a labyrinthine espionage and manipulation operation. Still ongoing, it began forty years ago, during the final years of the Cold War. Back then, Trump was merely a real estate developer, and Putin was a young KGB agent. This operation contains many dark areas, but some hold pieces of the puzzle. A former KGB leader, infiltrated “illegals,” a former Trump advisor, and former senior officials from the CIA and FBI, as well as a former prosecutor, provide testimony. . . . By weaving together a lyrical montage of young readers and authors, THE ABCs OF BOOK BANNING reveals the voices of the impacted parties, and inspires hope for the future through the profound insights of inquisitive youthful minds.
