Maurice and Katia Krafft are a couple of scientists, filmmakers, researchers and photographers who have made vulcanology the reason for their existence. Together, they completed more than 800 hours of filming 128 volcanic eruptions and developed more than 450,000 films of great aesthetic and scientific value. A journey in stages around the world, the film pays tribute to the two protagonists, from the first ascent accomplished by Maurice, then aged 7, at Stromboli, to their tragic disappearance in 1991 on Mount Unzen in Japan.

The 19th of September of 2021 the volcanic ridge of Cumbre Vieja, on the island of La Palma started erupting. This eruption lasted until the 13th of December of 2021. Lucía and two other filmmakers decided to travel and register the volcano. This is the journal of the first two days, based on the camera errors and casual conversations that were on the footage: Bad focus, being sleepy, journalists not knowing how to name the eruption, instagram, the crunch of Pringles fries, glutamato monosodico, the radio fluctuating between Prince and Elvis, selfies with the volcano, plans for illegal stuff and the seconds before a final system error.

Birth of an island explores how Iceland was created through volcanic eruptions on the Mid-Atlantic submarine ridge, why they continue and what effects they have on the island today. Why there are geysers and how the Icelanders learned how to harness the power of the natural hot water from deep below, as well as that of glacial rivers. It also shows how natural forces, such as glaciers, rivers, waterfalls, the Atlantic ocean and volcanoes constantly sculpture and mold the island. Explains why the island lost most of its vegetation, so Iceland is now the only country in Europe that has deserts. Also, what measures Icelanders have taken to recover the island´s woodlands.
Mauna Loa Volcano
A silent film featuring footage from the 1935 Mauna Loa eruption at Mokuʻāweoweo Crater and the 1942 Mauna Loa so-called "secret eruption" which was not publicized to prevent Japanese planes from navigating at night. There is also footage from Halema'uma'u Crater on Kīlauea from 1934. Filmed on 16mm Kodachrome, this is possibly the first color film of a volcanic eruption.
