Overview
This documentary tells the story of the Ustashe. These Croatians nationalists had been involved in several murderous attacks before WWII until they rose to power in 1941, supported by the Nazis. Then, they led a campaign of ethnic cleansing in the country, while participating actively in the Final Solution. However, their regime is one of the lesser known ones of WWII and their story has almost been forgotten. Why has it been so thoroughly erased?

The film tells the story of two Highlander brothers – Maciek and Andrzej. On his way, he meets the mysterious Wolfram, an anthropologist and climber. He shares with him his mountaineering technique and knowledge about the Prague origins of the highlanders. Andrzej returns to Zakopane, war breaks out. To protect the Highlanders from wartime destruction, he wants to persuade them to cooperate with the Germans. Andrzej and Maciek are standing on opposite sides of the barricade. The brothers' confrontation is bloody and painful.
God Does Not Believe in Us Anymore
After his father is murdered by the Nazis in 1938, a young Viennese Jew named Ferry Tobler flees to Prague, where he joins forces with another expatriate and a sympathetic Czech relief worker. Together with other Jewish refugees, the three make their way to Paris, and, after spending time in a French prison camp, eventually escape to Marseille, from where they hope to sail to a safe port.

Intercutting dramatic vignettes with newsreel footage, the story follows the characters from an infantry squad as they make their way from Sicily to Germany during the end of World War II.

Tomka is a boy who likes playing football with his friends. When the German army captures his town, the German soldiers establish their camp in the town stadium. Tomka with help from his friends and their parents organizes sabotage actions against the soldiers.
