The show features male amateur contestants matching themselves against professional athletes in a series of athletic feats related to the expertise sport of the Pro they are facing. Living Lahaina is an American reality television series on MTV. The series, filmed over a three-month period on location in Lahaina, focused on a group of twenty-something surf instructors and their father-figure-boss at the Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy. Living Lahaina also followed cast members throughout travels to Indonesia, California, and Kauai. Living Lahaina premiered on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 10:30 p.m. on MTV and was scheduled to run for eight episodes. However, only 3 episodes were shown on MTV. Following the style of MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, The Hills and Maui Fever, Living Lahaina was shot in the format of a scripted television show. Cast members did not speak directly to the camera. Instead, the show made use of a Dukes of Hazzard style voice-over narrative periodically throughout each episode, to give background or sum up storylines.

Super Agent was an American reality television series about nine sports agents competing to be selected for defensive lineman Shaun Cody. The series was shown on Spike TV in 2005. In each episode the sports agents were given assignments that allowed them to demonstrate their skills and talents as agents for Cody as he deliberated on which agent would ultimately be hired to manage his multi-million dollar American football career.
American Gladiators
American Gladiators is an American competition television program that aired weekly in syndication from September 1989 to May 1996. The series matched a cast of amateur athletes against each other, as well as against the show's own gladiators, in contests of strength and agility. The concept was created by Dan Carr and John C. Ferraro, who held the original competition at Erie Tech High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. They sold the show to The Samuel Goldwyn Company where the concept was enhanced and became American Gladiators. An effort in 2004 to launch a live American Gladiators show on the Las Vegas Strip became mired in a securities fraud prosecution. However, the television series was restarted in 2008. Episodes from the original series were played on ESPN Classic from 2007 to 2009. Several episodes are available for download on Apple's iTunes Service.
