Synopsis
Jim et Jean Thomas, deux gardiens de zoos australiens, quittent leur vie citadine pour s'immerger dans les forêts tropicales humides de Papouasie afin de sauver de l'extinction une espèce de kangourou des arbres, le tenkile, qui constitue depuis toujours l'un des seuls apports en protéines des Papous. Il faut convaincre ces derniers de renoncer à le chasser, et donc de changer un aspect important de leur mode de vie, sans pour autant compromettre leurs traditions et leur culture.
